The editors of the New Oxford American Dictionary have announced their Word of the Year for 2005.
And the word is…Podcast. No surprises there.
Runners-up for the 2005 US Word of the Year include: bird flu,IED, lifehack, persistent vegetative state ( technically a phrase), sudoku, trans fat and squick – which apparently means to cause immediate and thorough revulsion, eg. “was anyone else squicked by that suit’s arse-licking?”

What about ‘Wellington Client’.The definition of that is a client who is usually a lesbian, has short black spiked hair, a hillbilly moustache, fat, wears over-sized clothes to hide the cottage cheese thighs, hates people from Auckland – even chicks, that’s because they dress too feminine, and has two children and lives in a scam marriage. But they love Biggsy because he is soooo creative and is a mate of Helen’s.
