CARLOS-SAVAGE.jpgCarlos Savage has left DDB for Barnes, Catmur & Friends. The young Lion winner has made the move across to the inner-city agency led by Daniel Barnes and Paul Catmur, who gave Savage his first role at DDB four years ago.

During his time at DDB, Savage and partner Damian Galvin won awards for many of the agency’s major clients, including Volkswagen, NZ Coastguard, SKY, Cadbury and NZ Lotteries. The cult phrase “Get a perm” and its subsequent inclusion into the NZ vernacular through the Instant Kiwi ‘Doug’ campaign was one of Savage’s career highlights to date.

Says Savage: “DDB served me very well. I was lucky to get my start in advertising at such a successful agency. I learnt a lot and got the chance to work on some outstanding briefs. I have huge respect for Daniel and Paul and feel very privileged to be able to join the agency”.

Says Catmur: “Carlos is a lovely, talented bloke and we’re delighted tohave him as part of the team. We’re really busy at the moment so he’llbe straight in at the deep end, luckily his hair

should help keep him afloat.”
