World’s first live-rescue event: the video
New Zealand’s coastline is as long as the USA’s. NZ has morerecreational boaties in the water than anywhere else in the world.Unfortunately, NZ also have more reckless, irresponsible, andintoxicated boaties than anywhere else. With little government funding, the New Zealand Coastguard is forced to patrol this vast area with ajust 75 boats. Their volunteers are often faced with the futile task offinding a needle in a haystack.
As previously reported on the CB Blog, DDB New Zealand didn’t just tell thecountry this – they let them experience it on Sunday January 31. They capsized a boat andstranded 4 people in the ocean, and challenged the whole of New Zealandto find and save them in the world’s first live-rescue event.

Not hating. Just saying.
According to Wikipedia, New Zealand’s coastline is not as long as the USA’s coastline.

What other facts did you guys fabricate for the purposes of this award entry?
Clutching at straws 9:38. New Zealand’s coastline is actually longer USA’s if you take out Alaska – which doesn’t really count.
4:24pm, it’s not me who’s clutching at straws.

That comment from 4.24 is so unintentionally ironic. Awesome.
Why doesn’t Alaska count?
Most recreational boaties in the world?
Why don’t you take credit for inventing the moon while we’re at it,
