Colenso BBDO’s Yellow Pages ‘Treehouse’ + NZ Book Council score Nominations at D&AD

Colenso BBDO New Zealand and Clemenger BBDO Wellington stormed home toglory on the final day of judging at the D&AD Awards with three Nominations. Colenso BBDO scored one for Yellow Pages ‘Treehouse’ in the Brandingcategory, and one for NZ Book Council ‘Going West’ in the Animationcategory. As earlier reported by CB, Clemenger BBDO, Wellington has a Nomination for Road Safety ‘It’s your call’ in the Radio category.

In comparison, Australia has 10 Nominations and 27 In Book.

In the end, juries selected 560 entries to go into the D&ADAnnual. Of these, 135 entries have been nominated for a D&AD Pencil.

The UK dominated of course (being D&AD with all juries dominated byUK creatives) with a staggering 266 entries in the book – nearly halfthe total – of which 60 are Nominations. The USA has 79 entries InBook, of which 24 are Nominations. Australia comes third, with a totalof 37 In Book, of which 10 are Nominations. Germany came fourth with 31In Book of which 7 are Nominations; Japan came fifth, with 25 In Bookof which 5 are Nominations, followed by France with 20 In Book, ofwhich 6 are Nominations.

New Zealand has 9 entries in In Book, including 3 Nominations, placing us 9th in the world, behind South Africa and Sweden.

In-Book work is considered the best work of the year and equivalentto a bronze award. Nominated work is considered worthy of a YellowPencil and equivalent to a silver award.

Black Pencil judging will be held May 6 and 7.

The winners will be announced at the D&AD Awards Ceremony & Dinner on 3 June. Student Awards nominations will be announced the week commencing 11 May.
