Assignment Group acquires Josh&Jamie

After just six months in business, NZ Indie agency JOSH&JAMIE has been acquired by Assignment Group,effective mid August.
The deal will group Assignment’s extensive list of clients, withJOSH&JAMIE’s existing clients: 3 Wise Men, Premiere Beehive, SBSBank, Dairy NZ and recently won stuff.co.nz.

Despite significant spin and hype, Josh&Jamie fail to generate enough business to sustain and grow their own agency and quickly find a new home to go to.
Well done and all that… But why start an agency to become someone elses exit strategy?
From a business perspective i cannot imagine much money changing hands.
Why would to young guys, with there future ahead of them jump in bed with 3 guys who are ready to retire.

Good warning for every aspiring Creative wanting to go out on their own, that you need a good business head with you, as you can’t live on creativity alone. Well done boys, but not matter what you got, you would have got loads more if you had waited a while longer.
great press release but what a sellout, winning insignificant pieces of business and then writing about it like they’d won lotto – obviously had to sell out “again” as were making no money and had run out of self esteem backing themselves
Hardly a sell out forming a partnership with these guys.
If you just had of held on longer lads, more clients were coming, you could have stayed in charge of your destiny, and reaped higher rewards later. I guess startups are as hard to finance as they say. I guess if Special still can’t turn a profit it looks like a long road for J&J.

Assignment buys Josh and Jamie. And for reasons I would have thought quite obvious. Mainly they are exactly who Assignment needs to ensure the agency exists beyond the shelf life of it’s founders.
I’m sure both parties will do very well out of it.
Why throw in your lot with another brand just six months after launching your own? Did Assignment offer something incredible – clients, creative opportunities, shitloads of money? Or is running a creative indie just too hard?
if I was Assignment not too sure I’d be stoked with the wording of this press release.

Not a chance, those boys escaped the red shed years ago.
You two should have stuck at it for longer boys…you’ve made an error I think.. basically you have gone and got a job. Which is something… but owning a business that you have built up for nothing to something, that’s really what the next step is all about.. NOT going to work for someone. After all, thats what you do at the beginning of your career until you realise, they’re all assholes.. Anyway good luck.
