oh dear….
Can someone explain this to me? Airpoints Dollars – Dolly ??
Proof that when your client decides to create their own in-house creative shop, your best defence is offence. And this ad is truly offensive.
Air NZ seems to be in the process of dumping all the value it’s built in past decades.
Reminds me of an interesting article I read on Sell! Sell! Blog:

I thought it was pretty funny – and it got my attention. Great acting from the disturbed observers to Dan & Dolly. It was like some kind of farked up version of the have a love affair with wellington ads.
They seem to think all you need is some noise. No actually what you need is an idea.
No wonder the client’s staff have been laid off, looks like 99 should’ve been too.
Explains why Droga are all over the client now…
whats the goss with droga?
They pitch in 3 weeks. Or so I hear
WOW! Worst ad of the year! Bad idea, bad direction.
Not only Dro5a
Still, can’t imagine ASB and Air New Zealand being happy sharing the Droga love.
Ok…that is a load of crap…Air NZ is all over the place with their ads and brand message – what on earth is going on?
I like how the direct marketing manager has transitioned herself to ‘head of creative’. Very creative.
Stick to the starburst Farmers stuff guys. You’re plainly out of your depth.
So who does Droga5 have now? ASB and (probably) Air NZ
Yeah, it’s not just Droga that have a look in here.
God. Awful. Who would PR this?
Shame. Though, not as bad as those Freeview ‘ads’.
And to play (what’s the opposite of Devil’s advocate?)… at least people feel *something* when they see this ad, even if it’s just disappointment.
Better than that print ad for wine that was PR’d here a few days back… BCG2?… Which was so boring and inconsequential it wasn’t even worth commenting on. Kind of shows that if advertising is going to be bad, it needs to be actively bad.
