Saatchi & Saatchi launches ‘Powered by People’ brand campaign for House of Travel
Saatchi & Saatchi’s recently launched brand idea for House of Travel – ‘Powered by People who know how it feels’ – is set to grow. The campaign brings to life the idea that House of Travel staff are travellers too, drawing on their own experiences and love of travel to inspire and assist customers.
The campaign launched with a 60 second and 30 second TVC, retailadvertising, and supporting outdoor. Over the next few months the ideawill evolve towards a true participation approach in the digitalchannel, giving kiwi travelers the opportunity to share theirexperiences too.
Says Saatchi & Saatchi ECD Dylan Harrison:”People seeking travel advice are swamped with options on theinternet. What they’re often after is a chat with a real person who’sbeen there and done that. The campaign taps into the growing trend ofattraction through utility, giving staff a useful role in customers’conversations.”
House of Travel marketing director Val Greensays they wanted the new direction to promote their continued strengthin the industry, this being the vast experience of their staff, many ofwhom are seasoned travellers and bring invaluable knowledge andenthusiasm directly to customers: “When planning a holiday we knowthere’s nothing like getting advice from someone who has experienced adestination first hand. The new campaign captures this, and showscustomers that our staff genuinely care about their holiday memoriestoo,” says Green.
Nicky Bell, Saatchi & Saatchi CEO says forthe agency it’s a great step in the journey of creating irresistiblebrand ideas that are genuinely enduring: “We are thrilled that House ofTravel and their staff have rallied around the idea and made it theirown. It’s a great platform to drive growth in such a high interestcategory.”

THIS IS REALLY SHIT. LOOKS LIKE IT WAS MADE IN THE 90’s. (IDEA AND EXECUTION)
A rip, but the execution is great….
You should all be embarrassed.
Beautiful spot. Love it.
Erm… Powered by the people not there. Completed by people promoted to replace them.
A triumph of bad account service.
Similar to that AUT one a year or so ago… but not as good
Very long.
If you think it is a really crap ad, then blame the previous Saatchi management.
i have seen this on telly and like it-it has simple charm and lightness of touch.
Not award winning but 10 times better than most rubbish on TV.
I liked it, before I knew who did it. Now of course, I’ve changed my mind completely.
Nice one gals. You’ve created a very human, warm spot. It makes me want to use house of travel. Job done.
House of Travel used to talk endlessly about how shit-hot their website scraping technology was. Now it’s powered by people. I’ll take that over a screen-scraper any day.
A major step up for House of Travel.
Rip rip rip rip rip.
Don’t mind it, except I can’t understand why he has a full beard on his world wide vacation but is clean shaved in the office at the end, why can’t he have a beard in work, why can’t he be clean shaved on vacation? Was he forced to shave by HOT when he took the job? Is this trip in his future ‘cus he looks older then the office scene and older on the trip?
Isn’t it time to let the work speak for itself? What does this add to the mix “We are thrilled that House of Travel and their staff have rallied around the idea and made it their own. It’s a great platform to drive growth in such a high interest category.” ?
How about “Saatchi & Saatchi recently launched a brand idea for House of Travel – ‘Powered by People who know how it feel’. VIEW THE SPOT”
Agree with 9:27. It’s nice not to see endless website screen grabs. Good, simple spot.
Mostly harmless.

Watch youtube. Add logo. Done.
Execution it is but an idea I do not think so.
Is it just me or is the execution similar to the Vodafone ads from earlier this year?
10am he went for the bearded look but his girlfriend said it was too scratchy.
And he wasn’t getting any, so it shaved it off again so she’d put out.
like (with little thumb), as said above, the death star delivering an idea the country will like….
i hate say but i see the rise.
