Rory Carter makes Luerzer’s 200 Best Ad Photographers and joins International Rescue

Auckland-based artist agency International Rescue has welcomed highly regarded ad photographer Rory Carter to their fold amidst his recent selection as one of Luerzer’s Archive Best 200 Ad Photographers Worldwide for 2010/2011.

Carter’s three-part series for the New Zealand Army via Saatchi and Saatchi Wellington was selected from a total of 6,539 submissions across 48 countries by a panel of industry-leading art directors, creative directors and photographers.

Hailing from South Africa and having shot extensively throughoutLondon, Europe and Asia, Carter’s style is strongly slanted towardshighly conceptual ad photography with an irrevocably clean, polishedlook.

While best known for his distinct concept images, Carter is alsosought after for his solid automotive, landscape and productphotography and has shot for clients including Nike, Mercedes Benz,BMW, Land Rover, Sanyo and ABSA Bank.

Carter’s Luerzer’s win adds to his pool of awards which include Cannes(Dunlop, Eskom, Whiskas and Nike), Lourie Awards (Dunlop, Whiskas andNike), The One Show USA (Dunlop) and the New Zealand Axis Awards (PinkBatts).

“Its a bit of an honour to be selected for the prestigious Luerzer’s,especially since it is about being pitted against the peers on aworldwide level,” says Carter.

Rory now joins International Rescue’s fold of 9 photographers, 17 illustrators and 5 animators.

“I’m very excited to be joining up with the energetic and vibrant teamat International Rescue and to be amongst New Zealand’s best artists,”says Carter. “I believe its beneficial for all parties involved,especially the agencies and clients, who I’m sure like to know thatthey can pick up the phone anytime and have their questions answered.”
