Greg Whitham elected chair of the CAANZ Digital Leadership Group

profilepic02.jpgThe Communication Agencies Association of New Zealand (CAANZ) is pleased to announce that Greg Whitham has been elected chair of the CAANZ Digital Leadership Group (DLG).

Greg is the Creative Director and newly appointed Head of Ogilvy Interactive and brings 12 years interactive experience with iconic kiwi brands including Weetbix, Fisher & Paykel, The New Zealand Rugby Union, Resene and the Fletchers group of companies as well as many multinationals including Coca-Cola, BP, IBM and RaboPlus.

“Over the course of my career in digital I’ve watched and participatedin the birth and evolution of Social Media, online video, digital outof home and online advertising. With so many avenues now opened tobrands and their customers, the digital space is the new frontier inadvertising”, said Mr Whitham.

CAANZ CEO Rick Osborne says Greg brings invaluable experience andunderstanding of the interactive space and knowledge of how best toexploit the opportunities on offer to the industry.

The DLG was established in 2008 to provide a unified industry voicewith the aim of helping New Zealand businesses embrace the digitalenvironment and develop commercial opportunities. The group comprisessenior digital leaders drawn from CAANZ members who are exposed tointernational trends and who are at the forefront of helping clientssucceed in the digital marketplace.

Greg replaces Tony Gardner who is stepping down following his term as Chair of the DLG.
