Says Ben Welsh, executive creative director at M&C Saatchi and the judge of the October / November competition: “This one Could Be a Caxton finalist. Yes, it’s easier than doing something for a car or bank. Yes, it only works because the All Blacks won the Rugby World Cup. And yes, nice big newspaper ads are much more likely when you are doing an ad for the Newspaper industry. But the thought is original and it made me smile rather than yawn.”
The December / JanuaryCould Be a Caxton competition is now open for entries. It’s free to enter and anyone can submit nominations. The copywriter and art director responsible for the newspaper campaign judged best of the year’s Could Be a Caxton bi-monthly winning ads, will score an all expenses-paid trip to the 2012 Caxton Awards.

Congrats to the special people at Special. Speaking of Special am I Special by not being able to figure out how to enter the next round of this thing? It says go to the facebook page for info on how to and there is none.
Yes the thought is original, but how and who profits from this ad?
I just don’t get the point. 1000 kiwis send the Herald to England and what?
More people start buying it? No.
More people are motivated to advertise in it? Why?
Media depts advocate coupons in newspapers?
Please, what is the business point of this? What is the sales objective?
