Kiwi freelancer and Aussie RMIT students win Silver at global Young Glory competition round 5

New Zealand freelancer Alan Jones and Aussie RMIT Students Thomas Eltvik & Torstein S. Skogedal have taken out Silver in Round 5 of Young Glory – advertising’s global creative consistency competition.
The Round 5 brief was set by Alessandra Lariu (below left), Fast Company’s 29th Most Creative Person in Business and former Senior Vice President Group Creative Director at McCann New York. She tasked Young Glory participants with launching new Ping Pong fashion label Thompson Punke.
“I loved the energy people put into making their case studies,” said Alessandra in her review of the entries.
“I’ve always been a sucker for simple, on brief ideas that have a technology edge to them so it was great to see so many concepts go in that direction. Most of which came out as winners in the end… I wish I had something like Young Glory when I started my career.”
The Aussie pair won for “Thompson Punke Skill Shirts” (top) while the Jones won for “Backhand Sponsorships” (left).

Young Glory is now in its second last round of the 8 round season.
Participants currently have the chance to pitch their ideas on a new venture by the famous Just For Laughs comedy festival thanks to the current brief set by Marc Fortin (below left), Senior Partner and VP Executive Creative Director at lg2 in Montreal.
