Motorcorp’s group general manager James Yates made the announcement following a creative and strategic pitch for the combined New Zealand business of the Swedish and French carmakers.

Federation become lead agency on both brands in the NZ market, and will bring to the mix their signature approach for strategic integration of channels. The agency will be responsible for all creative including brand, digital, retail and social media. The Feds will work alongside current Motorcorp partners Total Media and Cathy Campbell Communications.

Says Yates: “Federation showed us deep thinking at every level – brand, point of purchase  and customer journey. Their creative approach was right on brand, demonstrating a thorough understanding of these two iconic marques while also pushing boundaries.”

Says Sharon Henderson, founder and director of Federation: “We’re thrilled to be appointed.  Volvo and Renault are very exciting European marques and a great win for Federation. The car market is due for a shake-up and, alongside the teams at Volvo and Renault, we’re looking forward to giving European car buyers a whole lot more to think about.”

The double win is a big start to 2013 for the Feds who are no strangers to global brands, having pitched for and won the Emirates account in 2012.
