For Warehouse Stationery and its agency partners .99, one of the biggest events of the year was about to commence, with the nationwide return to school.

Accordingly, .99 developed a crisp campaign featuring a fresh TVC, cinema, print and direct marketing that deftly targeted both mums and kids and encouraged them to maximise the benefits of shopping at Warehouse Stationery’s 63 stores throughout the country.

Through a combination of clever graphics, tight design and consistent messaging, the .99 ‘Back to School’ campaign reaffirmed the fact that Warehouse Stationery has the biggest range of products, at the lowest prices and is available in an environment that has everything required to make getting back to school simple and fun.

Cathy Atkins, Warehouse Stationery, head of marketing: “Building on the success of our rebranding back in July 2013, our ‘Back to School’ campaign received a fantastic response.  Customers have responded well to both and our business performance reflects this, including achieving our 18th consecutive quarter of same store sales growth.”

Says Ben Goodale, .99 and justONE managing director: “As was the case with our earlier efforts on the Warehouse Stationery relaunch, pretty much everything was handled in-house, a feature of our business that more and more clients are gravitating towards and making use of.  It proved that cost effective retail advertising can be fun and fresh, even when it has to have a compelling ‘buy now’ message.”

Says Craig Whitehead, chief creative officer of .99 and justONE: “We’re really pleased with the end result: it was colourful, contemporary and all the feedback we’ve received suggests it did a stellar job of showcasing everything you need to head back to school in an interesting and enjoyable way.”
