80’s excess

In the Mid 90’s when I started in advertising you heard stories about the excess of 80’s advertising. Did people really have access coke then? Were juniors brought new cars on their first days? Were ads conceived, presented and then celebrated in restaurants? The work was crap, and some of the more senior fellows do look like they’ve had indulgent lives, but was this all blown out of proportion? Any dirt would be appreciated.

At least in the 80s shit blogs didn’t exist.
In the 80s shit blogs didn’t exist.
I agree
Is this blog shit because there’s loads of better ones out there? Or is it because fuckwits like you have nothing of value to add?
If you don’t like it, fuck off.
Adding value? Go bury your marketspeak with your Mickey Mouse badge
I’m starting to see Jilly’s point.
Even better, go hang yourself with a ’90s advertising mickey mouse tie.
For the record: Those rumours about me and the board room table double entry incident were largely unfounded. It was ’85, I was young, and gay still meant happy.
Speaking of gay, someone at my work sent me a rather disturbing email yesterday. This guy liked sticking small vibrators down his weener. I almost vomited. This has nothing to do with 80’s excess.
I worked in an aus. agency circa 87.we never saw our GM after 11am. I saw him once at 9.45 am wearing a tie. Ominously that was the same morning the big cheese walked in and locked-down all the filing cabinets. The best business is still done over a drink.I haven’t seen a filing cabinet since then though?that’s disturbing enough.
sounds like someone I know?Is that you Grant?Did you make it thru then?hxx
mmmmm Len Pott’s couches ….
