The Special Fall Advertising Fashion Selection…

Just in case you haven’t spotted this fantastic new advertising
trend… Get an old Kiwi geezer to ironically wax lyrical about
whatever the fuck you want and viola! You have a brilliant ‘new
season’ creative solution. Who knows what order they came in, but
KIWIBANK, NZI and now BURGER KING EGGBURGER (Am I missing anything
else?) need to all get over themselves. It worked for 42 Below (who I
think did it first and best) and there’s no way this display of sheer
utter laziness impresses anyone at all! Get over your sad selves.
Creative? NOT!!!

Viola indeed
She was that spoilt kid in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Dearest Carrado, I am ALWAYS impressed by laziness, which is how I have tolerated working beside you on a daily basis.
Did Y&R do that Egg Burger ad? – If anything it makes me cringe I am associated with New Zealand.
I think the problem is a”Kiwi” is no longer a “Kiwi” in the Anzac kinda way anymore. Unfortunately, in God-Zone where the Foreshore and Sea Bed/ Brash/influx of enthnic minorities(Majorities reallly)/ the urban drift or urbanites, cosmo’s/ Renovated ‘Old Villa’/ character home/ $$$$/ student loan, has eroded what a ‘Kiwi” is. What it is to be at one with the land, eh Crumpy? In the search for a ‘National’ identity, all we can do is clutch onto an era when we knew who we were as a Nation-el!42 below was great, it allowed a sector of society to laugh, without Labour-ing the ‘PC’, at other fellow country-persons of ethnic, minor or major, persuasion. It must be okay cos it won an award right? (Preez, ah..check my server marketing manager)Hence the standard is set.Spose, being a ‘Kiwi’ needs to be rebranded. we need new heroes of the young and old. Any suggestions? Stacey Jones maybe?
There is this weird thing that happens with advertising called synchronicity… often peopletend have the same idea at roughly the same time and this presents itself as simultaneous executions. This is probably the case here as well. Although having said that, 42 Below did originate the idea.
Ummm… I can see the resemblence between NZI and 42Below but Kiwibank… you must be watching a different ad
Can anyone remember the words to the McDonalds Kiwi Burger ad?
“there’s no way this display of sheer utter laziness impresses anyone at all! Get over your sad selves.”- Christ!! I’ve never known a junior to be so bitter at such an early age.
Agree re the eggburger drivel. Lamest thing to come out of Y&R since Karl Fleet.
