TSUNAMI WAVE CONCEPT: WHO PRESENTED WHEN?

BMF Sydney presented this wider Tsunami Wave Billboard concept (bottom)to Medecin Sans Frontiers back in February this year, which can be verified by Emerald City Design, who were handed the BMF idea to produce. However, Clemenger BBDO, Wellington presented to their client, Civil Defence, in October, 2005. Says Clemenger Wellington’s Dan Moth: “We first presented this idea to client as part of a successful pitch on the 28th of October, 2005. Here is the actual image (top) that was presented on this date.”

We thought about a Tsunami on Boxing Day 2004 but it didn’t seem like a good idea.
we had the same idea as part of our pitch but didn’t win the biz. C’est la vie.AB

I find it ironic that Clems Welington is bellyaching about Aussies pillaging their work.Does anyone else remember the Campaign Palace’s once-famous billboard for Holeproof ‘No Knickers’, which attached a cloth skirt over a woman’s bum with the headline “When the wind blows you’ll see I’m wearing No Knickers”?Or the old OMON (I think) campaign for the Australian slang dictionary which had headlines like “There’s chunder on page 83”?This may be why Michael Lynch wants to complete his collection of old award books.
