COLLIVER/SAVAGE WIN FAIRFAX CANNES TRIP

Brett Colliver (right) and Carlos Savage (left) from DDB have won the Fairfax Young Creative competition. They win a trip to Cannes and will be competing in the Young Lions 24 hour slogfest in June.
It’s been a good time for Colliver of late. He’s one of three guys from DDB that took out the Emerging Talent Award at Axis on Friday night.

This confirms my suspicion that most of the crap comments on this blog come from students/juniors. They haven’t commented on this thread because they didn’t win, and yet aren’t mature enough to congratulate. Congrats to the team from DDB. Hope you can bring home the big one come June.
Those guys are hot. So hot.
I’ll comment on it. Rubbish, first thought stuff. I don’t blame the creatives – good on ’em and good luck in Cannes – I blame the judges. Surely there were more innovative solutions than this predictable and tired effort.
Ah that’s more like it, 11:45.
Nice one Carlos, you da man! Enjoy the trip.
See you soon bro,
Laz.
Yipee! First idea wins a trip to Cannes!
Second idea actually.
It’s a good solution to a brief that’s repeated year after year.
Good luck over in Cannes guys.
I’m sure you’ll kick arse in that comp.
11:45 and 4:23 you’re right, it’s an incredibly obvious solution. But of the thirty odd entries this year (plus previous years) it’s interesting that no one else had it…
See old Bloody’s in there in the background. Quick! Make ’em a job offer mate.
Nice idea. I’ll hire you. Don’t listen to anyone else.
A job offer from anonymous – are they a multinational?
3.03 – name us a handful of un-multinationals will you?

Er, I think you’ve got me there. Not really up to date with the NZ ad scene.
But what do you think of the work Mr Taylor?
Do these lads deserve a trip to Cannes off the back of this idea or is this just a classic example of that famous Woody Allen quote:
“70% of success is showing up”
