AWARD SHORTLIST: COLENSO BBDO NZ, LOWE RIVET SYDNEY LEAD AGENCY PACK

David Nobay.jpgColensoBBDO Auckland and Lowe Rivet Sydney lead the 2008 AWARD AwardsShortlist, which has a total of 350 finalists this year. 75 Judges gaveup their time to judge more than 3,500 entries over an intense two weekperiod. AWARD recorded the highest number of entries to date. Incomparison to the previous year, entries increased by over 20%.

Australianfinalist numbers are up by 24 compared to 2007, with a total of 181finalists. New Zealand has a total of 76, down by 26 from last year andAsia counts 91 finalists this year, 9 less than the previous year. Theoverall finalist number dropped by 11 compared to 2007.

Says Droga5Australia creative chairman David Nobay, this year’s Chairman of Judges(pictured): “Admittedly, we have to look beyond our own small world forcreative inspiration, but nevertheless, the 350 finalists this yeardeserve our attention and, if nothing else, our respect for a job welldone in a climate where the credit crunch is fast becoming the creativecrunch for so many clients throughout the region. Hopefully, ourwinners will act as reminder that, in tough times, big ideas punchharder than big budgets.”
