CAMPAIGN BRIEF AGENCY OF THE YEAR
It’ssoon time to pick Campaign BriefNew Zealand Agency of the Year — and also to work out the 2009 CBCreativity/Billings Index (or Hot+Cold Chart).
As far as most agencycreative directors are concerned, CB Agency of the Year is the mostcoveted of all AOY titles to win – and where an agency is placed on ourannual chart is critical to many agency’s new business performance inthe coming year (that’s the bit of most interest to CEOs!).
If youare entering other trade magazine Agency of the Year competitions, please send us (almost) the same thing. You’ll be pleased to know it’sfree to enter, unlike some of the others — and you won’t have to personallyfront a jury of competing agency execs and clients in a Sydney hotel topresent your case!
Provide your TV/Viral/Integrated on a DVD andPrint/Outdoor/Ambient work as A4 laser prints. (Keep the package smallthis year!). Please list highlights of the year, including all awardswon in 2008, new people, plus accounts won and lost, etc. in a separatedoco.
Please only include work that has run between January 1 to Dec 31, 2008.
Evenif you feel it’s not your year, please send us your best as it is vitalto work out where your agency fits on the 2009 CB Creativity/BillingsIndex.
Make sure your package arrives at CB prior to Friday 12th December, 2008.

Colenso must be favourites for this year i’d say?
Or maybe DDB goes back to back. . .
DDB back to back? Hell, no one could believe they got it last year, surely not again this year.
Own votes don’t count 4.37 from DDB.
I believed it. They did some choice work last year. And they’ve done some choice work this year too. Anyway, your logic is screwed bro. If they work at DDB why would they say ‘Colenso must be favourites this year.’ Maybe, just maybe, they work at Colenso. Or maybe you work there. Either way, word of advice. Let the bitterness go man. Move on from this whole hate DDB thing. It’s sooooooo boring.
It would be interesting to see what the billings are only for clients you’ve won awards on.
No bitterness bro. No hate DDB thing. Don’t hate Colenso. Don’t hate Saatchi. Don’t hate any of em. But no favouritism either. Just said it like it was said last year – have a look at the archives and see for yourself. Fact not fiction. So word of advice to you man – up yours, eat shit.
It’s funny when white middle class ad men call each other bro. How very “down with the people.”
Yup. And it’s the dipshit from DDB at 1.18 who’s father of the bro talk. Or should that be grandfather? Love the ‘word of advice’ bit 1.18. Sounded like a threat. Boo!
Wildcard entry if it’s not to do with billings; rather, about being a good advertising agency – Special.
Bro. Up yours. Eat shit. Man. em. The hate thing. Dipshit. Screwed logic. Sooooo…
I’d suggest a good dose of copy school for everyone.
I love DDB.
Wait, did I say DDB?
I meant DB.
Gotta do something about that stuttering.
LMAO 8.56!
If award winning creative builds business profitabilty (client, not agency), why does Nintendo bother doing all those non award-winning ads for Wii and their DS games to run alongside the award fodder Colenso stuff? Do the ads that win awards not actually achieve anything else?
Agree. Same question could be asked of the current My Sky ads, which actually explain in English what the damned thing does, and seem to replace the very expensive and Creative-with-capital-C extravaganza that preceded them.
It’s all about quantity. Never mind the quality.
It’s working for DDB, they’re sending in anything and everything to any awards just to get something.
Good on them though, if they’ve got the money to waste, why not?
