Win a trip to Cannes with Yellow™
Yellow™ are conducting a creative competition that gives teams the chance to win a trip to Cannes. The competition is designed to get people to reconsider Yellow and White pages print books as an exciting creative and media opportunity.
The brief – come up with the most clever innovative way of advertising a brand in, on or with the Yellow or White pages.
Says Kellie Nathan, Marketing Director at Yellow™: “We’re not looking for a print ad that can run in any print media. We’re looking for something that uses the Yellow or White pages in a unique way that really blows our socks off. Do that better than anyone else and you’re on your way to Cannes.”

Entry is not open to employees of Yellow, its agencies, or the judges’ agencies.
Presumably.
So … that works out cheaper than putting the brief in to Aim/Colenso?
Seams all a bit odd. Why don’t they get Aim to sort another good idea?
Have the ad schools given up on working for free for Telecom?
I hope a junior wins. They might like the trip.
Nah, this is cool. It’s not every day a client tells you they will only get out of bed for cool ideas and then take you to Cannes. Just take it at face value and get on with it I reckon.
My seams are a bit odd too. Perhaps I have my trousers on backwards?
Telecom sold Yellow a while ago now…School yourself buddy…
Keep up the cynicism 9:41. That’ll just shorten the odds of winning for the rest of us. I don’t think you’ll find an easier way of getting to Cannes.
For gods sake people for a bunch of supposed creative genius’ your freaking stupid sometimes.
As the brief clearly indicates, Yellow obviously want people in the ad industry to think about their print product differently – to consider it’s value for their clients.
Otherwise yes they would have just got Colenso/Aim to do the ad. Although who knows it might be cheaper this way as anon points out above – tee hee.
Good idea me thinks – enjoy Cannes.
So… May I ask who is judging this thing?
The yellow client? People from Aim or Colenso?
Well I am giving it a crack and i’ll tell you why. It’s because all you advertising types are a bunch of lazy fackers. And while my idea is bound to be pretty dam average, it’s going to be one of only seven Yellow have to choose from so I reckon those are good odds.
Fantastic. It’s not like anyone else is going to send you.
Nihhon, Nihhon, Nihhon… have I taught you nothing?

You’re having a laugh, though, aren’t you?
12:52, couldn’t agree more. And “1 in 7” is probably not far off the mark.
Interesting to note that they have put a clause into the fine print though, that says if the judges decide that none of the ideas are good enough, they don’t have to award the prize.
Maybe a recycling message. Because that’s where most of them end up these days.
I think that it is a brilliant idea! Are they first class flights to Cannes…?
(7.45 I’d hate to meet you at a party)
Thanks 7.45PM. But can you get back to trying to make your latest scam ad look like a real ad. Oh, sorry, you’ve already done that, the Cannes courier has already left the building.
9:40 you DID meet me at a party! And now you never call! Is it because I corrected the grammar in your small talk?
7:45
7:45 I think I love you.
