Fairfax Media AWARD Copy Academy announces its esteemed line up of speakers for 5 day course

Calling young writers and creatives keen to sign up to Fairfax Media AWARD Copy Academy’s intensive five-day tutorial on October 12 to October 16, 2009. 

The Fairfax Media AWARD Copy Academy is structured for writers who are already working within the industry, or would like to enter the field.

This one-week course offers 12 students the incredible opportunity to learn from some of the best senior creatives in the business. The tutors include; Mike Kelly and Dave King – AIM Proximity; Mick Stalker – Colenso BBDO; Darryl Parsons – Consortium; Adam Kanzer – DDB New Zealand; Lachlan McPherson – Publicis Mojo Auckland (above left); Jonathan McMahon – Colenso BBDO; Luke Chess – Saatchi & Saatchi (above right); Steve Ayson – The Sweet Shop and Mike Crean – top journalist from Fairfax Media.

 

Each speaker focuses on a particular style of writing, allowing the course to cover radio, interactive, press, narrative, writing for response, writing for the screen, presenting your work, the role of an idea, tone of voice and the power of headlines. Copy Academy is about connecting with an audience by understanding them and speaking their language.

The Academy, originally set to run in August, has been postponed to October and will be held at Fairfax Magazines building, New North Road, Kingsland. The course runs from October 12 to October 16, 9am – 12:30pm each day. On the final day, a lunch is held with all students, speakers and sponsors. Fairfax Media AWARD Copy Academy costs NZD$1,570, which includes morning tea and lunch on Friday October 16.
