DDB NZ heads AWARD 2009 Finalists pack
AWARDcelebrates a total of 284 finalists this year, with DDB New Zealandheading the agency pack with 17 finalists, followed by O&M Bangkokwith 14 and Colenso BBDO, Auckland with 12. DraftFCB, Auckland was placed 7th with 8 finalists.
70 Judges, headed by CraigDavis, regional ECD of Publicis Mojo (pictured) gave up their time overan intense two-week period to determine the most outstanding creativework across Australasia.
Australian finalistnumbers are down by 9 compared to 2008, with a total of 172 finalists.New Zealand has a total of 56, down by 20 from last year and Asiacounts 56 finalists this year, 35 less than the previous year. Theoverall finalist number dropped by 66 compared to 2008.

When AWARD bring in the SCAM rules that other awards bodies are bringing in, I’d expect the AWARD fortunes of one or two agencies to change rather dramatically.
Two of the top three agencies are from NZ which is pretty cool and someone leads with negative shit like that. Looks like big brands like Lotteries to me from DDB and Yellow from Colenso. Sad negativity like yours, James, really is the achilles heel of our industry. We should be proud, not snipes like you.
I agree with you in essence James – but your oh so clever revelation doesn’t account for the fact that the biggest scam shop in NZ didn’t do too well on the finalist table this year.
Oh dear, I see the Alien vs Predator is in there. Did they enter with the press ads appearing at their actual size when they appeared three to a DPS in the Harbour News?
Roll on the new rules. And, once again, I hope that the ads won’t be entered into One Show. We all know the consequences…
