Colenso BBDO, Auckland has put to air this risque campaign for Woodstock Bourbon, which was picked as Top 6 TV on Bestadsontv.com this week.
Since this campaign went to air, the brand has moved to Barnes Catmur as it was perceived to be a conflict with Export Gold, which Colenso won from Saatchi’s back in July.

These ads are funny. Silly which is great. Good laugh, nice west auckland approach. They love that piss.
so did barnes catmur pick up independent liquor and colenso get export gold?
The idea for this was done when the very first piece of point of sale went out years ago for this brand.
Since then, countless variations of the same gag have been done on t-shirts, giveaways, and bar promotions.
All Colenso has done is managed to make the TV version of the same idea.
The real genius behind this is the person whom was bright enough to think of calling it Woody.
I hope Colenso digs deep into the history of this brand and gives that person the deserving accolades.
If you drink Woodstock and call it a Woody, you’re a bloody genius?
This is blatantly a take off the sexist ads for tiparillo, ‘Should a gentleman offer a tiparillo to a …’ These ad’s sparked a feminist wave, not discourse over whether they were good or not. The ad should not be discussed in terms of good or bad, rather than the fact that it is using enlightened sexism to sell a product to people who believe in that sexism. Awesome.
