Wellington’s Resn wins Best in Show, Best Agency and record five awards at Pixel Awards

Hot Wellington digital agency Resn has received an unprecedented five wins at the 2009 Pixel Awards – a prestigious international competition for the world’s best digital agencies.

In addition to Best in Show and Best Experimental for the  JAG Black website and Best Agency, Resn won the Best Music Site for Fat Freddy’s Drop TV and Best Animation for Nelson company 26000 Vodka’s website. 2009 is the first time an agency has received five wins.

Resn beat some of the most respected names in the interactive industryworldwide such as New York-based agencies Your Majesty, Firstborn andBig Spaceship, a finalist for AdweekMedia’s Digital Agency of theDecade.

Resn’s Best in Show award was received for the JAG Black websitefor JAG Jeans, where visitors play the role of fashion photographer.Visitors snap models, select the best images from a contact sheet andlayout their own Black Book magazine which can be emailed to friends.

Thesite proved incredibly engaging, with visitors spending over sixminutes on the site on average and 25% of visitors returning for asecond look. Over 25,000 magazines were emailed to visitors’ friends.

Resn’sManaging Director Rik Campbell says Resn’s reputation is attractingincreasing amounts of international work: “JAG Black is a great exampleof managing creative projects from New Zealand. The client was inManila, the ad agency was in LA and we flew a Director of Photographyand our Creative Director to film in Sydney. Then we designed and builtit in Wellington.”

The Pixel Awards judges praised Resn’s blendof impeccable graphic design, technological expertise, and engaginguser experience. Judges comments on the JAG Black site include “It’s anextremely unique and creative idea. This site really made me feel likea photographer” and “This blew me away. Slick creative, engaging userexperience. Awesome.”
