Anna Boothroyd wins a Gold Bullet for Yellow ‘Treehouse’ at International YoungGuns Awards
Anna Boothroyd from Colenso BBDO, Auckland won the only Gold Bullet for New Zealand – for Yellow Pages ‘Treehouse’ in the Integrated Campaigns category – at the International YoungGuns Awards held inSydney last night.
LeoBurnett, Sydney creative Michael Canning was named the 2009YoungGun of the Year. Canning received a number of awards for his workthis year, including the WWF ‘Vote Earth’ global campaign.
Australiancreatives won three of the 11 Gold Bullets awarded on the night. ‘VoteEarth’ won two, in the Digital – Being Involved category and the Media- Best Globalisation category; and Merrin McCormick from SapientNitro,Brisbane won Gold for Tourism Queensland ‘The Best Job In The World’ in the Media – Best Globalisation.
A huge crowd rocked up to the free event, held at Publicis Mojo’sfabulous Walsh Bay premises. There was live music from two of Sydneybest DJs – DJ Shane and MissB, as well as an upcoming band – The Hooks.Lion Nathan provided alcohol and Google set up a creative sandbox lounge. Campaign Brief is the YoungGuns media partner in the Asia Pacific region.
Australian and New Zealand creatives (under 30 years old) scored32 out of the 99 entries that made the cut at the 2009 YoungGunsInternational Awards, which were selected by an international jurychaired by Tony Granger, worldwide CD of Y&R.
