saw that on albert street. made me laugh.
Does anyone else get this one, or is my Friday-itis getting really really bad?
It’s definitely an eye catching billboard. But isn’t it a bit strange to advertise something you don’t sell. I mean wouldn’t the average punter like to see what they are offering rather than what they’re not. But it is quite funny.
So wierd, it just might be awesome. Be good to see some more executions.
Wow – this possibly the worst ad out of DDB NZ since it dropped the Needham part. On the up-side – full marks for randomness though,
This is creative wank. I can’t imagine this sells more pies or even does anything for the McDonalds brand. I was in a car with 4 smart people and no one could understand what the ad was for!
Weird doesn’t mean clever.
Reckon if they do other ones like it, it’ll work better. And bet there are others planned. I like it personally. It’s pretty impressive when you stand there. Don’t think it’s the worst ad DDB has done in years. Far from it. It’s dumb, yes. But I like dumb sometimes. One thing’s for sure, it’s irreverent and funny. Now irreverent and funny for McDonald’s is freakin’ amazing. I worked on Maccas once. Boring and predictable is more their style usually. Credit where credit’s due I say. Besides, we all applauded a billboard that exploded a few ago for a dubious courier company out of Colenso. No one questioned the fuzzy logic there. Or the validity of the client. Let’s keep some balance here.
The McD marketing guy that paid for this should start looking for a new job.
12:14pm – I really want to agree with what you are saying – but then I look back at the ad, stare for awhile, and then go – ‘nah’. Looks like something Y&R would do if they had the account.
Has anyone seen the TV for this? Is it online?
average
POO Pie I think
12:14 an exploding billboard this is not. Fruitburst on the other hand…
Some excellent retouching on the bungee pylons. Well done.
I think it’s funny, especially for a McDonalds ad.
