Rocky and Mike O leave Saatchi NZ, but to where?
A month after the rumours first surfaced, it has been confirmed that ECD Mike O’Sullivan and CEO Andrew ‘Rocky’ Stone are leaving Saatchi & Saatchi next week. However, the pair are not saying anything about where there are going. But there is much speculation on the duos next move.
So far they all they have said is that they are in “discussions” with worldwide CEO Kevin Roberts. That would lead CB to believe that they may be involved with another Publicis company either in the region or overseas.
Says O’Sullivan: “We’re off on another big adventure. We’d like tothank the clients and the staff for a brilliant time. We’ve had somegreat people work here who have gone on to great things all over theworld. Now it’s our turn. In the last 5 years we’ve won 16 CannesLions, were awarded Effie, Award, Campaign Brief, The Work, Bestads,Admedia, B&T, and NBR Agency of Year titles, made the Gunn reportTop 50, launched Saatchi DGS, got New Zealand back on the WorldwideCreative Board and have been consistently ranked No1. Most Awarded
Agency in Australasia.”
When asked what their future plans were O’Sullivan and Stone said: “I’mafraid we can’t say, but if anybody is looking for us, we’ll be out onthe boat”.

Kevin and Saatchi will back them to start up another small independent shop.
Saatchi are under pressure and know big global models don’t work that well in small regions. They have shrunk and are shrinking still (they still a great agency all the same). Thats the issue and the result to follow but only my opinion.
I think BBDO would have done the same with the Josh and Jamie roadshow. Why have two guys working under your roof when they are setting up shop, unless you were behind it. Also i am not sure they have the nuts to go it alone like special and shine and will need a client or two and a salary to pay for the coffee and biscults
Priceless JT.
That is very funny.
