Monteith’s knows what’s worth talking over
Monteith’s loves good, adventurous conversations (especially over a great beer). So they’ve developed a new web tool to let you to see all of NZ’s most popular online conversations in an instant.
As part of their “Worth Talking Over” positioning, the West Coast brewer, via Saatchi & Saatchi, and Saatchi & Saatchi |DGS, has created what they believe is a ‘world first’ application that scrapes NZ’s top social networks, blogs and forums, and news sites, then ranks these ‘conversations’ by topic. With such a wide reach, the tool is a credible and easy way to keep up with what is being reported and discussed online in NZ.
It’s the perfect tool for journalists, marketers, online chatters andothers who want to take the pulse of the nation. The same people who, happily for Monteith’s, would be considered among this country’s keyinfluencers and opinion leaders.
Says Saatchi & Saatchicreative director Luke Chess: “It’s a prime example of how a big,media-neutral idea can go anywhere. Our Saatch & Saatchi|DGS guyshave taken the ball and run with it to a place far beyond traditionalbanner ads and microsites, producing a piece that’s not simply ‘onmessage and experience’ but is impressive and enduringly useful.”

just tried it, this actually is a really good, rather than a bullshit marketing site, its like a news tool, pains me to say but well done, made it into my bookmarks bar
How very generous of u.
but did you drink the beer?
This is brand advertising, 10:42. He doesn’t have to drink the beer, he just has to move it into his “consideration set”.
World’s first? This isn’t 2004 …
@9:49, yep, I’m sure I remember doing a project with a tag cloud in it. I think it was 2004, too. Maybe the claiming of a tag cloud as a world first in 2009 is a world first?
This is sweet at the top level, gets a bit boring very quickly further down. Where’s the ability to contribute to the conversation?
And… would’ve been better if they’d spelled the brand’s name right. It’s MONTEITH’S, not MONTEITHS. Apostrophes, people: they’re important.
he’s going to have to drink the beer eventually or else the brand advertising is shit.
piss down throats. not a nice chat about global warming.
One of the most convoluted campaign ideas for decades.
They need to attach a planner to each print ad.
Brilliant! These ads will really have me talking things over, sharing a beer with my mates while we get our nails done. Thanks Monteith’s, I love your herbal teas!
