Rory McKechnie departs DraftFCB for DDB

Rory McKechnie.jpgDDB New Zealand has lured award-winning young creative Rory McKechnie from DraftFCB to join the creative team.

DDB Group executive creative director Toby Talbot says that Rory’stalent definitely grabbed his attention: “Rory first caught my eye lastyear. Or should I say ear. His radio spot, ‘Beckstravaganza’, for PrimeTV was easily my favourite radio spot of the year. He started inretail. He worked bloody hard to make the switch to brand at DRAFTFCB.That says a lot about him. He’s tenacious. He can write. And he’s anice bloke to boot. I can’t wait to see what he and Damian Galvin getup to as a team at DDB.”

McKechnie has spent the last three years at DraftFCB working on clientsNoel Leeming, Bond and Bond, Prime TV, Pak ‘n Save, Pacific Blue,Whitcoulls and BMW.

McKechnie’s work has been awarded extensively including the EmergingTalent award at the Axis Awards 2009, Effies, Cannes, The One Show, TheWork, Award, NAB and ORCA.
