Axis shortlist: DDB leads the agency pack

Paxis_poster copy.jpgDDB New Zealand, the newly crowned Campaign Brief NZ Agency of the Year, leads the agency pack at the shortlist stage of the 2010 Axis Awards. Not counting craft, DDB has 70 finalists, well ahead of second placed Colenso BBDO with 48 finalists. Further back is Saatchi & Saatchi and DraftFCB with 17 finalists each, followed by Special with 13 and TBWA\Whybin with 12 finalists.

Other shops with finalists are: Clemenger BBDO, Wellington (6), AIMProximity (5), Ogilvy (5), Publicis Mojo (2), Rapp (2), Shine (2), Y&R (2), JWT (1), .99 (1), Barnes Catmur (1), Republik (1) and Big Communications(1).

The number of entries were up by 40 on 2009.

Thepreliminary judging has been carried out by some of New Zealand’sleading creatives and now the finalists have been sent off to theinternational panel. Things are building nicely towards a vintage AXISweek including the Creative Function on Wednesday 24 March (for tickets click here) and the 30th AXIS Award show on Thursday 25 March, to be held at Orams Boat Park, Beaumont Street.

The30th AXIS Show is going to be a hot ticket item and will quicklysell-out.  Tickets are going to be in the first instance made availableto agencies reflecting the number of entries they have placed, then itwill be opened up to an allocation to all other CAANZ members.
