Belgium backpackers to indicate it’s a Belgium style beer. Clever. And the gag of throwing the small plant away. Genius.
B.C.: Guys, you’re better than this…
It’s really similar to a whole lot of other beer ads touting the ‘pure’ strategy.
It’s a bit of a pity. I would have liked to have seen this beer ad be a bit more original.
But then again, if you’ve ever worked on beer, then you’d know how conservative brewery clients are. Especially when your client is usually some knucklehead promoted from Sales and Distribution.
I like it – simple to the point and funny – what a beer ad needs to be. The problem is the brand / product idea, a cheap knock off product positioning idea that’s done it’s dash already. Far superior to their Fiji me generic holiday porn.
Tough crowd, indeed. When a client jumps on a pure bandwagon (for good reason, it sells) they’re clearly going to want a pure strategy. At least the ad doesn’t take itself too seriously. In fact, it’s actually quite amusing.

I… think I… prefer the Traverse spot.
A bit dull.
This ad belongs in the Pure aisle

Pure obvious, tedious rubbish. Raise your game guys.
Quite good.
Don’t think it’s as bad as people are making out.

11:18 it’s bulgarians not belgians
Tough crowd. It’s a nice spot.
Cute spot, nice feel, drags a bit, but the biggest crime is: the beer does not look cold.

yeh – where did that Clems spot go? Not liking the comments?
I’m going to stick to my Emerson’s, Wigram, and Green Man beer thanks.
At least I know that’s just as pure.
If Paul Middleditch can’t make your ad funny… it’s not. Nice try though.
5.09pm, that’s because one writer and the CD are poms.
pure aisle was pretty funny
the ad wasn’t
A string of gags, that drags. Thumbs down out of 10.
