Barnes, Catmur adds Paul Wilson as GM

PAUL-WILSON-web.jpgBC&F has hired DDB group account director Paul Wilson to become general manager at the fast growing agency.

 

Says managing partner Paul Catmur: “The agency has been growing steadily so Daniel and I wanted some senior talent to help us ensure our clients maintain the level of service they deserve. Paul is a student of the industry and we are looking forward to his input as we plan for the future. He is a smart guy who gets on with everyone and we have been talking to him for some time waiting for the right moment for him to come aboard. His table tennis could improve but other than that it is a very exciting prospect.”

Says Wilson: “I’m really looking forward to working with Paul andDaniel and helping to mould an already impressive new agency. I lovedmy time at DDB but it was hard to say no to such a great opportunity.”

 

Wilson began his career in advertising at Singleton Ogilvy & Matherin 1998 working on the Restaurant Brands (KFC, Pizza Hut) business.During his time at SO&M he dabbled as a copywriter and won the 2002Val Morgan Young Creatives competition and represented NZ in Cannes.

Realising he was better suited to client service he then moved to theAustralian office of SO&M and looked after George Weston Foods,Kimberly Clark and Pizza Hut. In 2005 he joined DDB New Zealand and iscurrently a group account director looking after the ANZ bank. Previous brands include Volkswagen, Corona, McKenna Bourbon and TheNational Bank cricket sponsorship. Since being at DDB Wilson’s clientshave picked up awards at EFFIES, Axis, Cannes, Clio, D&AD, and theDirect Marketing Association with the highlight being a Gold EFFIE forthe Child Cancer Foundation in 2006.
