DDB awarded Bronze at ADC Awards in NYC
New York’s Art Directors Club today announced the winners of its ADC 89th Annual Awards, which includes one from New Zealand – Bronze to DDB for Sky TV ‘West Bank’ in the TV/Cinema category.
A design Print Merit was also awarded to Alt Group, Auckland for Selecon ‘We make light’ in the Corporate and Promotional Design category.
BBDO New York was the top agency winner with three ADC Gold Cubes,followed by Goodby, Silverstein & Partners and Wieden + Kennedywith two Golds each. On the client side, HBO received three ADC GoldCubes, including two for “Cube Film Installation” in the advertising(unconventional/guerilla) and design (environmental design) categories,while NIKE “Livestrong Foundation” and The New York Times Magazine eachwon two Golds. Colgate also receiving two ADC Gold Cubes, one each forthe “Comics” campaign by Prolam Y&R, Santiago, Chile, and “TakeThem Out” from Miami Ad School Europe, Hamburg, Germany. ADC Cubeswere awarded for work from 25 countries this year.
The ADC89th Annual Awards will be presented on May 19, 2010 at the SVA Theatreat the School of Visual Arts in New York. This year marks the firsttime the club has ever presented a best-in-show ADC Black Cube, whichwas introduced last year, and the first time in 12 years that ADC hasmade such a selection. In addition, ADC will name recipients of thisyear’s Agency of the Year, Network of the Year, Design Team of theYear, Interactive Agency of the Year and School of the Year honors,based upon cumulative points for this year’s winning work, and the ADCVision Award, presented by the ADC Board to a company or individualwhose work embodies the ADC mission and presents breakthrough ideas.

The ADC’s? Of course, why limit your american ad award entries to the other half a dozen competitions. Get in there. I think they have an ad award in Uganda that has a nice statue too. And very reasonable entry fees. Enter three categories and they will the following year they will fly the CD of that agency over to judge. Been to Uganda? Lovely.
