Special Group cleans up July Newspaper Ad of the Month with ecostore laundry powder
Special Group, Auckland has won the July Newspaper Ad of the Month award with their press ad for ecostore. “The ad’s got topicality. That’s how a newspaper should be used to make a statement”, said the judges, referring to the fast turnaround response to an article in the previous day’s newspaper.
The July Ad of the Month judges were Paul Catmur from Barnes, Catmur & Friends, Scott Harley from Spawn and Kate Humphries from Media Design School.

This

The

You

How come Michael Redwood doesn’t get to be a creative director too? If I were Redwood, I’d pine.
Nicely art-directed pun at best.
How could you even read it, 9.42. You must have superhuman vision. Unless you were compelled to read it in the newspaper of course….
Bigger please? Can’t read it.

ads fine – product ruined some clothes though ie; turned black into white. had baby with excema at the time so were well pissed. dodgy batch they said. hello persil we said.
so there’s some dirt on it. bloody hippies.
I think the overnight turnaround is pretty impressive.
Prefer this to that air new zealand listener response.

I think it’s a seriously average piece.
As for puns, how about ‘dull as dishwater’. They can borrow that one for a Ecostore dishwashing liquid ad if they like.
Not very speshil at all.
I went to NAB.
I want my 808kb back.
I dunno, it is what it is. As an instant response to a newspaper article, I’d say it does the job it set out to do pretty well.
That’s what it won for. Not for being crazy or entertaining.
topical, old school, yawn.
I’m sure a saw a cracking Harvey Normal ad that was obviously overlooked.
