Dairy NZ and SBS Bank get Naked with Josh&Jamie for new campaign launches

Naked and Josh&Jamie had two new campaigns launch on Sunday:
The television commercial tells the story of a Kiwi dairy farmer who goes round the world on his quad bike and returns home to NZ with the knowledge that while other countries may have more land, money, people, rain and sun than us, when it comes to dairy, New Zealand leads the world,
exporting to over 140 countries, feeding over 100 million people and accounting for a third of the world’s dairy trade.

The new SBS TV commercial directed by Robbers Dog’s Chris Dudman, launched on Sunday night. The 30 second spot shows an SBS bank manager strolling through his local town where he knows everyone by name much to the surprise of his young son.

Very J&J.
Im newish to adland and everyone has just raved about you to J&J – And now I can see why – you just get Kiwi’s!
Ads made for people, not ad juries. Nice work guys.
9:22am
“you just get kiwis”
Yeah. We’re all so insecure that any ad that pats us on the back and says it’s great to be a Kiwi, we will love.
So who did what? Who was the director on the Dairy one?
Saw the Dairy one on tele last night. Looked epic!
Well done J&J … nice job.
Isn’t there a better quality copy of it to use as a link? I see it is on bestads as well … looked a lot better there…
Do you guys ever do an ad people dont like>?
Yes they do… SBShit. Too sincere. Trust Bank c.1994
Other one is good is the last line.
Yeah I thought SBS was a bit worthy.
10.24 – the director on the NZ Dairy job was Mike Oldershaw.
meh.
Both those spots are good, but would have been heaps better with a hot babe covered in chocolate…
Dairy – Too much time screen time on New Zealand end. Not enough countries. I’ve definitely had better shoots than this.
Dairy one is great. SBS made me throw up on my keyboard.
Nailed it Udders.
hg
It looks like the client wrote it.
They’re both pathetically mediocre!
Why is this a good ad? Am I missing something?
Predictable. Boring. Is that what we all love? Shame. I always hoped this industry would embrace fresh and new. Silly me.
I thought this place was full of cynical bastards, not brown nosing gits.
J and J right the same old shit every time pics cut to a kiwi vo – very one trick ponies
The praise above is not deserved
These guys started an agency with nothing six months ago.
In no time they get bought out, because this is the sort of work that clients will pay for.
Ads that solve problems beyond an agency need for awards.
Good on you boys.
Don’t know what the fuss is all about. The SBS ad is vomit inducing and the other one is just a remake of the Silver Fern Farms ad.
6:57 – U good righter. I valyoo yor opinyun
7:31 I think there could have been a few more issues – like cashflow perhaps.
These are not bad and should go down well in the marketplace. If they came from an unfashionable agency they’d probably pass without notice.
Another example of people doing good once they leave the clutches of the smiling assassin
Comment 1 nailed it: “very J&J. They feel like the same ad. The trick is to make ads that are “very (insert client name)”
It doesn’t matter anyway, they’re employed by someone else now and they’ll be working on whatever the Assignment boys choose to put them on.
Interesting as well that they were released on here as two J&J ads. Like they are part of the same campaign.
Average ads with limited legs. Can’t even see the website address on the dairy ad.
4.16 … yeah because the screen on the link is the same size as a tv screen eh? …. nob….
Nice job everyone involved. I suspect this is just the beginning in a fruitful relationship between the agency and these clients. Better ads will come – watch this space – or maybe the one after that. But they will come.
