Special Orcon banner brings us interactive office
Special Group, Auckland has created this unique internet banner for Orcon to dramatise why their no-contracts approach to business gives New Zealand companies the freedom to grow and change. They’ve shrunk an office down and placed it into a banner and made it interactive.
You can watch mini episodes of office life – covering everything fromnew business wins through to escaped convicts and office meltdowns. It’s designed to create attention and engagement and is typicallycreative for Orcon (who are of course the Axis ‘creative business ofthe year’).
The production companies were Exposure and Salt Interactive.

How is this interactive? You can play one of four mini-movies. The video content itself is quite entertaining and well done, but this isn’t interactive advertising by any stretch of the imagination (except the press-release writer’s obviously.) Digital != Interactive. if I want to choose what video advertising spot to watch I can use my remote control on my sofa and flick between stations during the ad-break for a similar effect… without any of this new-fangled internet hyperbole.
Did you interact with it?
You’re a dick.
A PR release for a web banner. Bwahahahah.
Great banner to watch, but would I buy Orcon from it??
Looks like all the positivity went to Josh and Jamie this week.
I think this is great, the most creative and original piece on this blog in a while.
Would I buy Orcon from it? The message is pretty clear I would have thought, as your business grows Orcon lets you. Why wouldn’t you buy from this message.
Well done Special, you’re approach with this account is enviable..
Nice try, though it felt a bit flat on the execution and a wee bit OTT with the acting. Have a look at Banner Concert posted a couple of years ago on BannerBlog – a very sweet, refined execution.

No.
I wouldn’t even play the banner.
I’m amazed at what gets praised vs what people are cynical about on this blog.
This is all class.
Had yer 15mins…..
Nice work.
It’s cool.
I think it’s just ok.
Doesn’t particularly rock my world.
