Trust State to look after our favourite things

State is one of the biggest Insurance companies in New Zealand. ColensoBBDO, Auckland’s task was to re-engage with customers and win back somelove for the brand.
The premise was simple; State care about your stuffas much as you do. The campaign kicked off with a nationwide search tofind out what things Kiwis care about most. State will then find a wayto protect these things, even the things you might not think you caninsure.

So when my 20 year old teddy burns in a house fire these guys will replace it?
This entire premise is oxymoronic. Insurance replaces stuff it does not reincarnate it.
Looks nice though, I always like that track on an ad.
Couldn’t agree more.
I’m actually shocked at this enormous strategic flaw.
Am I missing something? I must be.
The client has been stitched up more than a jack the ripper victim after a heavily foggy night.
This is a ‘big idea’ with no client payback: no call to action, no response, no phone calls generated. What a collosal waste of effort and money.
However for Colenso, this ad is very nicely executed.
A tripod obviously isn’t one of the DOP’s favourite things.
I preferred the Scissor Sisters video rip.
No, you’re all right. Absolutely bang on the money. Nobody needs insurance. What a crock of shit/waste of money. Don’t even know why insurers even bother advertising. There’s clearly no market for it. Might as well cu the losses, sell up, close down, and open an indie agency.
Sarcasm. At least you had that
so the blue ghost guys scared kids?
Normally I’m cutting with my remarks, but for an insurance company I genuinely really liked this ad. A solution I’d never of come up with and very nicely executed.
I think it is great! Beautiful strategy. Beautiful execution. Bla bla bla on the no payback comment. We forget that one of the hardest things is get noticed and remembered. This work is fresh and worth remembering. It can have a small portion of my precious memory. I know who I’ll be calling if I wanna protect my stuff. BUT do agree that the website could at some stage work a little harder (after the engagement). Smart Client to invest in this.
in the last installment of that idea it was a guy putting all his favorite stuff into a phone.
Yeah, have we forgotten what brand advertising is meant to do?
They are there to make you love one brand over another, and hopefully choose that brand when you’re next shopping in that category.
This is one of them.
Colenso do the Tower ads too eh? How does that work. One agency doing two competitors. Good if you can get away with it.
The only stuff State love is customers’ money! Shame on them, they have to be the WORST, most dishonorable insurance company ever. Their performance post quake in Canterbury is disgraceful.
