Search underway for new ECD at Saatchi’s NZ
Following the decision by Saatchi & Saatchi New Zealand ECD Dylan Harrison to resign to return to his native Australia in December to join DDB Sydney as ECD, the search is on for his replacement.
Says Saatchi & Saatchi NZ CEO Nicky Bell: “I was naturally disappointed that Dylan has chosen not to continue the journey we began almost eight months ago but, in a funny way, with this first phase of the agency’s reinvention complete, now is probably the best time for him to go.
“It’s no secret it’s been a challenging first few months. We had someof the toughest briefs in the business to crack and were under somepretty intense pressure at times.
“But the agency has really come into its own during this period and, asa result, we now have a tight, cohesive team, a positive spirit, and araft of great work in production for our brands. I’m incredibly proudof what the team has achieved together. “
“We know our clients, our people and our community much more intimatelynow, and the search for a new creative head for the next phase of theagency’s evolution will be well informed by that,” she said.
“The decision to leave is the most difficult I’ve ever had to make,”says Harrison. “The opportunity to return to Sydney with my youngfamily, proved irresistible. I leave confident in the positive momentumwe’ve established, Nicky’s inspiring leadership, and the immensecreative potential of the agency.”

VEGAS!
I wonder how long he’d been talking to them for?
Peter if you want the job just call the headhunter like everyone else.
“but, in a funny way, with this first phase of the agency’s reinvention complete, now is probably the best time for him to go.”
Best spin ever. This is her ‘Mission Accomplished’
So the same headhunter is doing the recruitment again? Did they not learn from last time?
maybe they should break some really new ground and get a Kiwi in…
Which headhunter is the gig at this time?
Wonder what Mr. Tinning is up to these days?
How about Jeremy Taine? He’s already there after all…
It appears that hiring an Aussie from London is a mistake. They are clearly using NZ as a short transit stop on the way home.
Sanitarium love Jerro. Did he help them nick it?
Think 10:07 is onto something there.
Saatchi pitches for Cadbury. Cadbury declines pitch and stays at DDB. DDB then appoint Saatchi CD to senior DDB position. All of which happened at the exact same time during the pitch process.
At the end of the pitch, it seems that there were two winners and one loser.
Something smells.
I wonder how busy the Saatchi IT department is right now?
10:03 – Really? Have you even been inside Saatchi lately? I have and I can tell you the first stage of the reinvention has most definitely taken place. It is not the Mike and Rocky show any more. Everyone loves to hate Saatchi, or so it seems. But which one? Old or current? Give the new team a fair go. It’s what you’d want if you took a new gig.
It’ll be Maddocks after he finishes his book.
Maddocks is looking for a nice relaxing time. So I don’t think so 8.41
