Geez you guys, your heads are so far up your your award widened a-holes that you have to criticise a solid job that communicates what the client needs it to? I’m utterly sick of coming to this site day after day and reading the inane and just plain ignorant comments from uneducated buffoons, who are either just out of ad school nappies, or have failed to ever take them off and can only find relief in crapping on everyone else’s work.
What you fail to realise is that without ads such as these (ads that are simple and direct in their communication and that work for their clients), you wouldn’t even have jobs, much less nights rolling about in your pools of self-gratification such as Axis.
Do I work for TVLowCost? Did I come up with the idea? No. Never heard of them before reading this article frankly. But I tell you who will hear of them – the clients out there that want a good honest job that generates results not silverware for award cabinets.
And before you start typing your next Gen-Y-esque retort, I’m not against awards either. I love great creative and great ideas. Much of what DDB, Colenso, Special and Saatchi’s (for example) do, deserves accolades and deserves to be celebrated. But just because a piece of work isn’t award-winning, hardly gives anyone license to deliver a kick in the guts to a solid piece of work that bring business in the door, to a client that probably appreciates the fact that their marketing budget is being spent responsibly.
Hey 4.57 get a job, or doesn’t anyone want a humourless bitter cock in?
The reasons all advertising should slag this are it’s cheap shit and creatively held back in fifth form, twice.
Work like this breeds young critics. And so it should.
Without commitment to ideas and proper investment in them where are we going?
PS. Drunk at 4.57? Oo.
Funny how UDC is owned by ANZ National who spend about $30m a year on marketing. Dr Seuss is OK to blow big dollars on but not this brand.
Just putting that out there……

TVLowCost? LowProfitCompany? SustainableModel?
I’d just go with ‘CheapArseClientLickers’.
Definite Axis contender.

4:57pm – but this blog is all about creativity…
4:57 -if you were half creative, you wouldn’t be in advertising.

Actually, 8:36’s comments were directed at 7:37, not 4:57. Oops, my bad.
I agree with everything you say 4:57. Except you should realise that if you put something up on this blog, people will knock it down.
