Colenso BBDO Auckland takes top spot in The Work 10 with record number of Acceptances
Colenso BBDO Auckland has capped off an amazing year of great work with a record 27 Acceptances in The Work 2010. The agency is easily the best performer this year, recording 13 more Acceptances than the second ranked agency Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney, which had 14 Acceptances and 16 more than DDB New Zealand, which was ranked third with 11 Acceptances.
Colenso BBDO’s performance is a record in the nine year history of The Work, which has been published by Campaign Brief every year since 2002. The previous highest total of Acceptances was 25 recorded by Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney in 2005.
It is the second year in a row that Colenso BBDO Auckland, creatively led by ECD Nick Worthington (left) has headed the rest of Asia Pacific, following on from their haul of 19 Acceptances last year. The secret to their success this year was that they produced a vast amount of high standard work across all categories. They had acceptances in 9 different categories in The Work 2010 – TV & Film 6; Outdoor 4; Integrated 4; TV Craft 4; Ambient 3; Direct 2; Print Craft 2; Public Service Print 1; and Radio 1.
Of the Australian and NZ agencies, Leo Burnett Sydney was ranked #6 in the Asia Pacifc region, followed by Clemenger BBDO Wellington, DDB Sydney, and JWT Melbourne at equal #7. At equal #12 were Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, DraftFCB Auckland, GPY&R Melbourne, Grey Melbourne and Marketforce Perth.
This year 435 ads and campaigns from 142 agencies were accepted into The Work 2010.
211 Acceptances came from Asia
150 Acceptances came from Australia
74 Acceptances came from New Zealand
The Work 2010 will be a 400+ page, hard bound, quality publication due for release at the end of the year and be available for only A$100 direct from Campaign Brief (plus airbag delivery) – more details at Christmas.

New Zealand Book Council. Alzheimer’s Society. New Zealand Breast Cancer Awareness. Yes, all their biggest clients will be represented this year. Like Cannes. They should be rightly proud.

Agency pride? I fucking love it. Not only are they the best agency in the region (world?) and setting a high bar for us all to aspire to, but they’re also setting the benchmark for culture.
I want to work there and it looks a lot of people who work there want to work there.
You have my deepest respect.
And no, I don’t work there.
Nick Worthington, I envy your talent. Bastard.
I concur October 19 2010 11.39.
Anyone who says otherwise is just a sad bitter person.
