Dave Gibson comes out of the Closet for Art of the Envelope Awards, set for Nov 17 in Auckland

PUSH-1.jpgA hot new venue, new MC and shedloads of the industry’s hottest talent all line up for this year’s Art of the Envelope Awards grand final event next month (but you’ve got to be in to win – entries close today).

 

Iconic Kiwi pop star and music merchandiser extraordinaire Dave Gibson will now be able to add ‘MC of the 2010 Art of the Envelope Awards’ to his CV. The Elemeno P singer and founder of online T-shirt company Closet.co.nz will be stepping up to compere this year’s Awards, which will be held at the Deus Ex Machina motorcycle showroom and café in Wellesley St on 17 November.

But before the supreme awards are announced next month, congratulations are due to the latest Art of the Envelope monthly winner, Jason Hall from RAPP, for his outstanding creative piece for the National Bank.

 

The final round of monthly finalists for the 2010 Art of the Envelope has also been announced – get your voting fingers ready to vote at www.pushtheenvelope.co.nz for:

·        Jason Hall from RAPP for ‘Baby RAPP DM’

·        Wayne & Kim Pick and Nick Conetta from RAPP for ‘More Golf than you’re used to’ for VW Golf

 

The simple act of voting could win you an Apple TV, a $500 bar tab or $500 towards your iTunes account. Congratulations to Vanessa Hunter, who was the online voter winner for last month.

 

This year’s overall winner – to be announced at the final event on 17 November – gets to choose from a prize pool worth $5,000, with category winners rewarded with the latest Apple gear, vouchers and much more.

 

Categories include the Mailed Masterpiece (previously created work that has been direct mailed, including envelopes and larger packages), The 50 Cent Classic (a redesign of the regular-sized envelope that can be mailed economically, to showcase creativity on a budget) and Redefine and Redesign (an unrestrained opportunity to produce an artistic or futuristic masterpiece).
