Localist appoints M&C Saatchi Auckland
New Zealand Post’s new start-up directory service, Localist, has appointed M&C Saatchi for itsadvertising and digital communication services.
Localist is a fresh new way forAucklanders to share tips, shout about great experiences, find out about localevents and activities and find the things they need locally.
“In choosing a partner we talked with a number of agencies” said Blair Glubb, Localist CEO. “We found that M&C Saatchi was a good fit for us. They are an agency that understands the power and potential of digital and social media. This combined with their expertise in brand and retail means they are able to help us develop a truly integrated campaign foundation.
“The other big plus is that myself and a fair few members of the team have workedwith these guys in the past. They’re as excited as us about the potential ofLocalist, and getting that true connection to what we are trying to achieve isvital.”
Darryn Melrose, CEO of M&C Saatchi, said “As soon as Blair first told us aboutLocalist, we wanted to work on this piece of business. So we were absolutelydelighted to be appointed. It’s a great opportunity to be involved in a trulyinnovative start-up. They’ve gone out and spoken to Auckland businesses andactually listened. Businesses are disgruntled with what else is out there; they’renot seeing any benefit to them. Localist will be different. It’s a service thatreally will help businesses talk with their customers.”
