Jon and Penny Cooper establish ‘The Coopers of Franklin Rd’ in Freemans Bay
Senior audio post engineer and sound designer Jon Cooper, and producer partner Penny Cooper, have left Liquid Studios to start up their own audio post and sound design service for advertising clients, working out of Franklin Rd.
“We’ll provide the same level of audio post and sound design services we always have, in our own studio housed at FR, with Pen producing me” says Jon.
Cooper says “It’s been a difficult decision for both of us to make, as we are enormously proud of our time at Liquid and the work we have done with the people and clients there. But we’ve been pondering a move to doing our own thing again, and the time was right to do so”.
Jon has more than 25 years audio post experience under his belt, most recently at Liquid where he’s been Senior Engineer and Sound Designer since 2005. Prior to that he has variously worked for, among others, Song Zu Australia as Creative and Musical Director, Digital Post (where he set up the Audio Post facility with Clive Broughton) and Vidcom/601 Digital, as well as running his own Music and Sound Design businesses.
Penny’s experience as Producer has seen her work with agencies including Saatchi and Saatchi, Ogilvy & Mather, Y&R Auckland and Adelaide, and Production Companies, Mustang Films, Republic, Silverscreen and Song Zu Australia. Penny was also General Manager at Auckland Audio and latterly she has of course been Studio Manager at Liquid.
Pen says “Ditto to Jon’s words. Looking forward to working with his nibs, it’s something we’ve
wanted to do for a long time.”
The Coopers of Franklin Rd will open from Monday May 16, located at:
84 – 86 Franklin Rd, Freemans Bay, Auckland.
Bookings can be made by emailing Penny Cooper or contact Franklin Rd on: (09) 370 0414 / 021 0236 8747.
