Haha. Awesome! I didn’t know what the story was with all those facebook groups until now.
This thing has blown up on facebook! It’s everywhere. Great talent. Client must be stoked.
Pascall got their weird on. Nice stuff. Punters are loving it.
But you can’t even watch the TVC with the link above? Yet we have 3 raving reviews… You wouldn’t be involved in this as would you ?
#1: What facebook explosion? what facebook groups? I’m on there 24/7 and ain’t seen jack.
#2: It’s becoming quite clear that there’s a clause in all DDB contracts that require employees to “big up” their agency’s work.
#3: Will we be seeing these top three comments in the “And the blogosphere went wild” section of the award video.
#4: Good night
The link worked for me. Have you tried clicking the “view the spot” button 12:02? First time on a computer maybe?
So very average. One can only hope for the day they get a brief for a lollies TVC. These people on facebook must be seriously simple.

12:28 – It’s not in their contract to talk up DDB/Mango work. However, they do get bullied into it on a weekly basis. I pity them.
Could have been done a lot better. The pages on facebook are even funnier than the actual tv script.
I like the idea, it’s just the VO is average, if not annoying,
I’d change that guys.
Agree with 10:33.
Also, could have had a lot more fun with the scripts.
The following is not a criticism, just an observation.
The ‘something sucks, here’s some consolation’ strategy worked very well for Hamlet cigars for many years until the law closed them down. Happiness is a cigar called Hamlet.
If these guys can own it, the campaign has a great, and long future.
Then, after Hamlet, came “it’s moments like these you need Minties”. Same category, even.
love the idea, v/o and execution of the film is just a bit blah
Then wrigleys did ‘the after anything mint’.
I quite like the execution but I can see how its awkwardly quirky style could be polarizing. Some people might not get it.
I saw a few of the facebook pages. Pity a client wouldn’t let you get away with a script like ” Condom broke, have a Pascall Swirl” Why so conservative Pascall? However, you cant argue with the effectiveness of the campaign so far.
This is right up there with Clayton’s & L&P. It’s not that the premise is so special, but the execution is perfect, and the timing makes it stick in one’s mind just like ‘world famous in NZ’… The phrase just lends itself to so many other uses (like Clayton’s) and the swirl girl Fairy is priceless.
I just saw the Australian version on-line, and I can see why there are comments against the voice-over… it’s totally wrong. I had only seen the New Zealand ad where the V/O is much more laid-back and suited to the ad. Trying to find it on-line now. It’s far more psuedo-sympathetic and a touch sarcastic rather than being so brash and in-your-face.
