CAANZ and Flying Fish present Battle of the Ad Bands – Kings Arms Tavern, Thursday Sept 1
It’s the biggest event on the advertising calendar that doesn’t involve ads, yes CAANZ and Flying Fish present Battle of the Ad Bands 2011, live Thursday 1 September at the trusty old Kings Arms Tavern.
The registration fee is $250 – cheaper than a client lunch and a hell of a lot more boozy.
There are only 12 slots, so sign up quick. Registrations close Wednesday 10 August at 5pm, no extensions.
As usual bands will perform one original and one cover as done with ‘Rain’ by DraftFCB’s The Stink (left) performing at last year’s event.
The wildcard song went down well last year, so they will be doing that again.
But wait there’s more! This time round they’re going to get bands to cover a short jingle from one of their clients, or one from the advertising archives.
So tune those guitars, tighten those skins and ignore the feedback as usual.
If you can’t get up on stage, you can still jump on the sponsorship band wagon. They’ll need some awesome prizes and free stuff to give away, so contact Steph McDonald.

bloody good!
Don’t start practicing too early or you’ll sound like the Hathaways.
RIP Time Soldier.
Bring back Account Drac!
Will Toby be performing his DDB swan song?
I hope DDB sing The Warehouse jingle.
Hope Haines do their one man band thing again. He was a brilliant cross between Charles Manson and Kurt Cobain!!
Sigh. I miss The Stink.
The Stink were awesome.
And yes, I do work for The Stink.
