Talbot vs. Taylor. Copy vs. Art. Don’t miss The Great Advertising Debate tomorrow night
What’s more important in a press ad? Art or copy? Find out at the NAB Great Advertising Debate, part of the NAB Ad of the Year Awards tomorrow night at the Aotea Centre, Auckland.
It’s a night that will bring together advertising’s most creative minds, and egos. In one corner, esteemed copywriter and ECD Toby Talbot and his team will be putting forward the argument for the written word. In the ‘Art’ corner, creative extraordinaire Paul Taylor and his team will be championing the power of the image.

What a waste of time. It depends on the ad/target market/a whole host of factors.
Who gives a shit? Who organised this debate? You suck.
Brontosaurus versus the dodo more like. why would you bother?
Lighten up. Could be entertaining, thought provoking, fun.
Too few care about copy.
Hope the debate goes well.
oh for fucks sake stop taking this business so seriously you sad little pricks
Don’t feed the trolls Paul, you would have a better chance breaking through a brick wall with your bare hands than convincing them its a not so serious addition to the evening. Either way, best of luck and I will be there to watch and learn.
Stop shouting at the children Paul, the neighbors are looking.
4:17pm, valid point but poor choice of comparison. I wager Paul Taylor could take a brick wall apart with his bare hands pretty bloody fast.
