British Airways pays tribute to those who first took flight — and follows in their footsteps via a 90 second commercial first aired on the British Airways Facebook page – a first for the brand. The Facebook page also includes a making of video.
The campaign, via agency BBH London, is one of the most expensive ever for British Airways and its first brand campaign in a decade.

I think quite good, esp good when the VO with the conveniently unplaceable accent stopped prattling.
I’m not a fan of this ad. It’s like a corporate promo video.
And what happened to the ‘Upgrade to BA’ line? I loved that line. Obvious. But brilliant.
As for the food on BA, I’ve only ever flown with them once. Business, of course.
The Champagne was cold, I asked for Tattingers, but had to make do with the second-class option.
The cold cuts of meat were fine, if a little heavy. The bread was delicious. The butter was, I suspect, Lurpak. Not a fan.
I like drinking, and since I was flying over Italy I ordered a bottle of red.
I’m not an expert on Italian wine, so after grilling the rather hot hostess I settled on some sort of light chianti-thingy.
It was nice.
By now my taste buds had opened up. I was ready for the main. I asked for beef. It was ok. So I asked for a second course. It tasted the exact same.
I passed on the dessert option.
Somewhere over the Middle East I fell asleep, only to be woken by a mild hangover.
Queue the next bottle of wine. Which my nice hostess uncorked.
Because of the wine, the food, and the hostess I like BA.
This ad, however, has spoiled the taste in my mouth.
Nicely done but an old as time storyline don’t you think?
