To promote Hell Pizza acquiring the hottest chilli sauce in the world, Barnes Catmur & Friends, Auckland has produced the Pizza Roulette campaign. At no extra cost you can have one drop of HELL FIRE on a random slice of any pizza.
The campaign consists of Adshels, instore posters and an EDM that has garnered some interest on the Internet, including reaching the front page of reddit.

I got this as an email.
Thought it was rubbish.
DELETE.
Last line on long copy makes no sense. Correct please.
The campaign is neither here nor there, pretty sure everyone had a ‘burnt page = hot sauce” ad in their student book, I know I did, but pizza roulette itself is a cool idea.
Wait a minute, ASB to go to pitch?? is that just some ad wank probably said over a TBWA prego lunch or does that have some actual truth behind it.
Dear Copywriter: If you can be bothered to write about it, perhaps you should be bothered to read it, at which point you would realise that it does make sense.
Weak, like the Vegas / Rotorua Hangover RTD spot…
The ads might not be amazing but the idea behind them, is AWESOME. They will sell a shit load more pizza to their target market. Even as a skeptical advertising type I would give it a try. Seeing people suffering from excess spice is highly entertaining. Well done. This is, of course, assuming that BC&F came up with the chilli idea, not just the ads.
I love this idea! Nice one team Hell.
Awesome idea. I’d be keen to try this out.
Jesus you guys are a bunch of cynical pricks! Its a great idea that appeals to the target market and they’ll sell a whole bunch of pizza because of it. What did your ad do? Wow! You won a trophy and sales went up 1%, Congrats. Advertising wanks.
Hot.
pizza roulette. great idea end of story. stop being dicks ‘cos someone else thought of it.
Fucking great marketing idea. Fucking appalling print ad. That’s probably what is confusing everyone to shits here.
I thought the point of advertising was effective communication. by looking at this poster I now know I can play spicy pizza roulette at Hell (so did a shit ton of redditors). why do you need to back up a creative product with a creative ad for it to be ‘good’ advertising? jesus.
Do you want to win an award or sell shit? When you’ve come to a decision, ask yourself whether you should really be working in advertising.
