Starcom MediaVest wins agency of the year at the 2012 Festival of Media Awards in Switzerland
Starcom MediaVest Australia has taken out the top award – Agency of the Year – at the 2012 Festival of Media Awards in Montreux, Switzerland.
It is also the third consecutive year Starcom Australia has won at the leading global media awards, a feat managed by no other Australian agency.
Along with Agency of the Year, Starcom’s work for Shannon’s Supercar Auto won the Best Entertainment Platform award. While the campaign for Optimum Puppy Love was commended in the Targeted Audience category and campaigns for Suncorp and Mars Twix were shortlisted.
The Shannon’s campaign aimed to broaden the reach of the niche motor insurer and was centred on a 10-part TV series charting the global search to find the next young driver to join the elite of Australian motorsport and race at The Bathurst 1000.
Starcom MediaVest Australia CEO John Sintras (pictured), was in Montreux for the awards presentation and said it was a stellar achievement for the agency.
Says Sintras: “It is an absolute honour to receive the award for Agency of the Year and it’s a
testament to the skill, talent and dedication of our team at Starcom Australia. It’s also worth considering that 880 entries were submitted from across the world for just 13 awards. For us to receive five shortlists and convert two of these to an award and a commendation is a fantastic achievement. For Starcom Australia to have won for three consecutive years on the global stage is even more impressive. Very few agencies in the world can lay claim to this level of
consistent global product excellence.”
Launched in Venice in 2007, The Festival of Media world’s first festival of media
creativity and innovation and attracts around 700 delegates from over 40 countries.
