Frucor Beverages’ V Energy Drink kicks off ‘The V Motion Project’ via Colenso BBDO, Auckland
UPDATED TO INCLUDE THE VIDEO OF THE FULL TRACK
Colenso BBDO, Auckland has created The V Motion Project, a new campaign for Frucor Beverages’ V Energy Drink.
By hacking Kinect motion tracking software and combining it with audio production software they created The V Motion Project, a tool that could transform the body’s movements into music.

Colenso BBDO and Frucor kicked off The V Motion Project back in May. The project has resulted in a series of webisodes, a song on iTunes, a music video (soon to launch) and TVC’s that all demonstrate the ‘V’ Brands core value – that with enough energy you can do extraordinary things.
Says Luke Rive, Marketing Manager Energy, Frucor Beverages: “We are constantly looking for new and interesting ways to engage with consumers and love taking on the challenge of coming up with something unique and unexpected. With the help of Colenso ‘The Motion Project’ has certainly done that. The feedback to date on the webisodes has been fantastic and we are looking forward to seeing the consumer response as we put the final pieces of the puzzle together with the launch of the TVC and music video.”

Wow. I trust this is idea has been ingeniously created to help the V brand more than the Colenso brand.
Go Colenso. Another quick jump on some technology to win metal somewhere.
The first to do it?

I wonder what this guy would think about the Colenso’s completely original trailblazing project for V.

Quite apart from the blatant copying… This is plainly a cheat. This is not really live, it is pseudo-live. It is a clever retrofit to the music. It not their stooge, even normal punters would have been able to make this sound as good! Dodgy as!
Name one other brand which is doing anything half as rad as this.
Look at it for what it is.
